I HATE leaving reviews like thisEven when I don't enjoy a book, I usually leave five star reviews. I couldn't for this book. As much as I loved Bron, Ava was SO irritating, she completely distracted me. I can't stand pious people, and her self righteousness ruined the book for me. Her mom and best friend were both repugnant characters as well. I'm actually kissed I wasted three hours on this book. I almost quit reading it more times than I can remember, but was hoping it would be worth it in theThis was a beautifully hot romance story. I enjoyed the storyline and the hot sex scenes. I'm glad there was not more supernatural elements as it would have made the story too unrealistic, there was just enough to keep the intrigue going. I love strong brooding alpha males!!
Classic romance with plenty of twists and turns and some suspenseThis is a classic romance, it has the sweet and kind of naïve female lead, the crappy boyfriend who only cares about himself and tries his best to bring her down, the stunningly handsome bad boy who sweeps her off her feet and plenty of steamy sex scenes. However it has much more depth than your average romance novel, the fact that sexy Bronson is Avas boyfriends adopted brother and there is already bad blood between the two men,
A Valentine's Day treat, I really enjoyed getting to know both Ava and Bronson. The plot is exciting and well written and the characters are fantastic. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
OutstandingI enjoyed reading this book. The writing flowed easily and effortless.The characters were well developed and compelling. I was disappointed in Ave lack of standing firm in her love for Bronson. She ran when he was in his darkness ,when he was in a rage and almost killed his brother who was attempting to rape her and when the Aggie's will was read stating that Bronson must married her. Bronson I loved and was pleased that his life is better. There is also an element of the supernatural
This is a romance wrapped up in a story of mystery, revenge and family secrets, and I was pleasantly surprised that the plot was as well developed as it was. So often romance writers give up a complicated plot for the sake of sex scenes, but Sorel didn't do that. Don't get me wrong...there is more than enough sex...but she has also written a fairly compelling story which I really enjoyed. Take My Heart by J. J. Sorel is the story of Ava and Bronson. Bronson was serving a jail time for something he didn't do but he knows his 'brother' is the true person that set this up. So when he gets out he wants to find his real family and get revenge on his brother. Some of that revenge is the girl that is in his brother's life, Ava. But what starts out as a plan with her as the pawn starts to be the most important person to him. Enjoyed their story.
