Evaluation Containing Books The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham
The most powerful part of this for me was "segment intention." The rest of it I've read in the Secret or from other New Age authors. The "channeled" element of this book is interesting. Has anyone else listened to recordings of Ester Hicks/Abraham from the 80's? She had a much thicker "channeled" accent then, I wonder what changed it with time...

Wasn't sure how to rate this book...Personally I wasn't a fan. While I do believe from my own experience of it that we do attract based on our vibrations (to some extent- not necessarily exactly the specific thing we've been dreaming about), I did not appreciate this presentation of the LoA. There are a tonne of run-on sentences and strange ways of explaining things that made this easy enough concept a bit of a drag to read. Here's an example from pg. 79:"But as you recognize that this Guidance

Love, validation, the secret of eternal life will all be found in this book. What is the cost? Only your critical thinking skills. You must completely surrender yourself to your emotional guidance and let it show you the secrets of the universe. Esther Hicks channels this book (or as she would say, "receives" from a nonphysical perspective) from the group of entities collectively known as Abraham. They know what you want, everything that you desire, and they will tell you everything that will

EDIT, January, 2014:Today, I stumbled on this: http://www.yourtango.com/2014203359/l...The writer, Ms. Trespicio, goes a lot farther condemning the book than I did or should have and she makes it clear that if you want something in life, you have to DO something to get it. Or to get rid of it as the case may be. True, actions start with thoughts and I think that's where I should have been more clear in my prior write-up.So, a couple of things of note:- Reducing my rating for the book from three

Did you know that if you want to become rich all you have to do is believe you will and you will. If you do not it's because you didn't believe you would. Oh this is such a pile of crap. It's nice to think positively but Esther Hicks is an outright liar and scam artist. This is one of the few books I immediately threw in the garbage after giving it a fair chance. It is utter garbage.I have seen that phony Esther Hicks on You Tube doing her "Abraham" act. She nods her head once or twice and then

Currently identifying what I want in life. I really enjoyed the segment intentions. Essentially our every day life is just made of segments i.e. going to work and coming home from work are two seperate segments.. what exactly are you wanting from that segment? I.e. going to work- "I want a job that I love. I am grateful for the job that I have currently but I am seeking a job that brings me more fulfilment". It changes your perspective.

If you liked the movie The Secret, this book will take you deeper into understanding how to really make this powerful law work in your own life. I recommend this book frequently to clients and use it in my coaching and speaking work to emphasize how each of us really do create our reality. Now that I know how the Law works, I have become able to stay much more positive and trusting. It amazes me how things fall into place as they never have before. The principles within the book are ageless and
