Rendition Toward Books Malice (New Orleans #6)

This is the 6th book in the New Orleans Series and we meet Detective Bentz, who has resigned from the LA Police Department after the death of his ex-wife. He moved to Louisiana leaving behind an unresolved murder of twin sisters.

He now works for the New Orleans Police Department and married Olivia, a beautiful woman and living happily together.

Recovering from an accident he starts seeing Jennifer, his dead ex-wife. He begins doubting his sanity and with the help of Detective Montoya….I love this guy…..tries to solve the mystery. He returns to LA where and people he knew or were associated with him begin turning up dead. I tried guessing who the murderer was and I was shocked when the person was revealed. Totally unexpected.

Wow….from the very beginning you are taken on rollercoaster ride filled action filled suspense.

I liked reading the killer’s viewpoint. Added a creepy feeling to the story.

Crit Epithetical Books Malice (New Orleans #6)
This is an edge of ure seat gripping crime thriller, I could not put this book down, was completely taken in by the story from beginning to end.As always I love the characters in this ongoing series of books. :-)

Lisa Jackson at her absolute worst is still pretty darned good. And this is the least favorite novel I've read by her. It just seemed to drag. On and on. I've never struggled with one of her novels until this one. One full year, three startovers and one long push from p. 250 forward, but I did it. Maybe the problem was me. I can't say really, but I know that the other New Orleans novels zipped fast and furious without any pauses. This seemed like it took forever just to go three pages, and the

Rick Bentz wakes from a near fatal accident with a vision of his ex-wife who has been dead for 12 years. As he slowly recovers he spots "Jennifer" more and more until a package it mailed to him with recent pictures of the Jennifer look alike and her death certificate with a huge question mark.Determined to discover if his ex is still alive he leaves for Los Angeles and begins talking to Jenifer's friends. Each reveals new information about Jennifer and Bentz begins to investigate the leads but

I took this out of the library because I had hopes it would be a ghost story. I was a bit disappointed that it wasnt, but I figured I would finish listening because I did become invested in the story and I wanted to find out what was going on. Unfortunately, I didn't connect with the male protagonist, Rick Bentz. He is emotional and shows his feelings, but I guess I would have liked to have known a more compassionate side of him. I think it may have to do with the fact that the author focused

I cannot finish this book for a couple of reasons:1. I don't care about any of the characters - no depth to them.2. The word "damned" appears so many times in this book that I can't stand it anymore - does this bug anyone else? One of the first things we all learn in school is DON'T REPEAT THE SAME WORD OVER AND OVER AGAIN!This is the first book I have attempted to read by this author and I guess it will be the last. I'm not sure how it got such high ratings. I cannot recommend.

What sounded like a promising story sort of degenerated into 'how many bad things can happen to the main character in one single book' by about the third or fourth chapter.Lisa Jackson definitely has the earmarks of a good writer, but the massive tragedy that was the life of this poor cop in her book ended up detracting from the character and the story far more than adding to it. The setup of his wife cheating on him, then him leaving her, getting back together and her cheating on him again,
